The pupils of Zoharim Youth Village set out to cheer up IDF wounded and their families at the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem

Pupils of Zoharim Youth Village, founded by Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman, visited the wounded from the Nova Music Festival, settlements of the Gaza Envelope, soldiers and defense forces personnel, who are recovering at the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.

They came to lift the spirits of the wounded and their families and to encourage them with music, hugs and encouraging messages.  When they returned to the youth village, they told the staff about the moving experience and the inspiring and hopeful feeling.

They came to strengthen and left strengthened themselves!

A month ago, Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman and Evyatar Zitouni met for the first time, when Zitouni was anesthetized and intubated. A true miracle took place during this encounter and Zitouni regained consciousness. This past Thursday, the Rabbi returned to visit him.

Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman came to visit the wounded soldiers at Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital, going from room to room to bless the wounded for a speedy recovery.  He met with the families, encouraging the families of the soldiers, imbuing them with hope for their loved one’s speedy recovery.

Evyatar Zitouni was awaiting the Rabbi’s visit with his family.   Zitouni, company commander and commander of squad commanders in the 450th battalion of the Paratroopers, was mortally wounded in combat in Kisufim on the Black Saturday of October 7th.  Upon his arrival to the hospital, Rabbi Grossman visited Zitouni, placing an ancient coin on his forehead and a few hours later, Zitouni opened his eyes and began to speak with his doctors and told them that the moment the coin was placed on his head he felt a strong ‘boom’ while in a coma.  Since that time, the two have formed a special bond.  When the Rabbi saw Zitouni, he couldn’t hide his emotions and said:  “With God’s help, we will dance together at your wedding.”  Evyatar’s mother, Natalie thanked the Rabbi for coming back to visit Evyatar and said:  “Thanks to you, miracles have occurred.”

Singer Yaakov Shwekey:   “In every generation, they rise up to destroy to us, and the Holy One Blessed be He saves us from their hands.  We have witnessed a true saving of a life.  It is encouraging to hear about these moving moments.”  Rabbi Grossman and singer Shwekey broke out in a moving song with those who were in the room with Evyatar.

Yishai Ribo performed for the wounded soldiers at Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital, at a moving evening organized for them by the Migdal Ohr Organization Migdal Ohr Organization, and it director Israel Prize Recipient Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman organized a moving event to encourage the IDF wounded soldiers at Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital. Singer Yishai Ribo, who volunteered to perform at the event: “The nations of the world have once again greatly underestimated us, they did not understand the uniqueness of the Jewish People”.

The Migdal Ohr Organization held an event to lift the spirits of IDF wounded soldiers this Thursday at Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital.  Participating in the event were singers Yishai Ribo and Yaakov Shwekey, who volunteered to come to sing and lift the spirits of the wounded and their family members.  In attendance was Migdal Ohr Organization Founder and Israel Prize Recipient, Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman and his wife, Rebbetzin Esther Grossman; Chairwomen of the Zoharim Youth Village Public Council and JDC Committee member, Ms. Meirav Mandelbaum, and activist Dana Beck. “This past month, following that difficult Shabbat, I have visited many army bases and sang for our heroic soldiers, tried to lift their spirits, although they already have a lot of spirit of their own.   We came to strengthen and went home strengthened ourselves,” said Ribo with emotion.  “Thanks to this togetherness that we have discovered in the past month, it doesn’t matter if it was willingly or against our will, the main thing is that we are here together, and we are here to stay in this togetherness that will lead us to a decisive victory, because there is no other choice.  The nations of the world have once again greatly underestimated us, they looked at the division here.  They do not understand how just a little over a month ago we were divided, and in an instant, we united and became one heart.  This is the greatness and uniqueness of the Jewish People that can become one body in an instant.  That is why we are called the chosen people.  May we serve as a light for ourselves and continue to serve as a light among the nations”.

More than 1,000 boys and girls who were evacuated from the southern settlements came to an amusement park for a fun day organized by Migdal Ohr

For the past month, the Migdal Ohr Organization has operated the Magen Yisrael Emergency Campaign and have tended to all the needs of the southern residents who have been evacuated from their homes.  We have embraced them with love and provided them with moments of happiness and joy, in this tumultuous period for them.

Especially for the hundreds of evacuated children, we held a fun day at the Magic Kass amusement park, to try to help them momentarily forget what they have experienced and what they are still going through.  These children have experienced a great tragedy and have been under a lot of pressure, leaving them with trauma and a sense of insecurity.

Magic Kass Amusement Park in Maaleh Adumim was enlisted by the Rabbi for this activity and it was attended by one thousand children of various ages.  For a moment, one could have thought that they were in a parallel universe.  “Suddenly, I saw some moments of light in my child, who had just a few weeks earlier lived through hell and in a flash, he returned to experience age appropriate childhood experiences.”

One of the mothers added:  “To see my child who continues to experience serious trauma and night terrors, exchange his fear of missiles with a fear of boarding a roller coaster was a great victory over the Nazi Hamas.  The children returned with great excitement and it was a great privilege to be stopped by the Rabbi who asked us questions and took an interest, something we do not take for granted.”

Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman:  “After having experienced a terrible catastrophe and seeing the worst, we have a responsibility to help make these children happy and bring back a smile to their faces.  We organized a fun day for them to bring a little light and hope to their lives.  The children of the settlements of the Gaza Envelope have suffered terribly and we must all embrace them and help ease their pain”.

Messengers of a Mitzvah are not harmed | Rabbi Grossman blesses the IDF soldiers before they enter battle and presents them with a coin to protect them

A moment before they entered into battle, Rabbi Grossman arrived to strengthen the IDF soldiers.

There is a belief that messengers of a mitzvah are not harmed, and the Rabbi presented them with a half shekel, wrapped and decorated by pupils of the Migdal Ohr educational institutions.  The coin serves as a guarantee for a mitzvah mission, and the soldiers are to donate it to charity upon their return.  As long as the soldiers hold the coin, there is Divine protection for them  until they can complete the mitzvah given to them by Rabbi Grossman – to return home healthy and whole in body and mind, and to donate the coin to charity themselves.

Migdal Ohr pupils say thank you! Hundreds of pupils took part in the preparation of gift packages and letters to soldiers on the front lines

The pupils of Migdal Ohr institutions have spread light and love to our brave soldiers.

These wonderful children have prepared gift and food packages and have added thank you notes for their bravery and a prayer that they return home safely.   We ensure that the Migdal Ohr pupils take part in the civilian effort on behalf of the soldiers and the families, receiving an important lesson in mutual responsibility and giving back.  Instead of dwelling on the horrors of the war and the bad news, we show them the beautiful side of Israel:  a united people extending a helping hand to their neighbors.

The Migdal Ohr Organization provides IDF soldiers with tactical jackets as they enter the battlefields of Gaza in the winter

Migdal Ohr’s Magen Yisrael Campaign continues to aid the IDF forces.

This morning, Israel Prize Recipient, Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman, along with volunteers and donors came to distribute thousands of tactical jackets to the paratrooper’s brigade.  The jackets were purchased by the organization thanks to the donations from many partners and donors from Israel and overseas.  The jackets were suited for combat during the cold winter months forecasted for our combat soldiers in the various battlefields.

Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman placed an ancient coin on the head of a mortally wounded officer. A few hours later, he opened his eyes: “The Rabbi placed the coin, and I felt ‘boom.’” Now, they are working to save his leg

Evyatar Zitouni (26), company commander and commander of squad commanders in the 450th battalion of the Paratroopers, was mortally wounded in combat in Kisufim on the Black Saturday of October 7th.  After his team lost many of its combat soldiers, it killed many terrorists.  Zitouni was evacuated to Soroka Hospital, anesthetized and intubated.

His parents spoke about an extraordinary visit by Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman:  The Rabbi stood by his bed,  prayed, sang the hymn A Song of Ascent and placed an ancient coin on Evyatar’s head, a coin he always carried.  He promised that Evyatar would stand on his feet.  A few hours after the visit, Evyatar opened his eyes.

Rabbi Grossman came to support and strengthen the soldiers of the Paratroopers Brigade, before entering the battlefield in the Gaza Strip

The first time Israel Prize Recipient, Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman met the soldiers of the Paratroopers Brigade, it was during the Second Lebanon War, and since that time, his connection to them has grown stronger.

During that war, the Rabbi presented the soldiers with a coin that he asked each one to donate to charity after the war, so that God would protect them, as mitzvah messengers. And so it was, they all returned home safely!

Currently, the Rabbi visited various IDF bases and battle preparation fields, strengthening and blessing our soldiers before they entered battle and presenting each one with a coin, making them mitzvah messengers, so God would protect them  until their return, so they could do a mitzvah by contributing the coin to charity.   This morning Rabbi Grossman arrived to bless and strengthen the spirit of the paratroopers, before entering battle.

Rabbi Grossman in prayer for the recovery of the wounded during his visit to Beer Sheva’s Soroka Hospital

“He who has blessed our forefathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, shall bless and heal all the wounded who have risked their souls on behalf of the People and the Country.  May the Almighty send them a full recovery, recovery of their body and their soul, and may they emerge healthy and whole with all of their organs and sinews, and we will rejoice together with them.”

May there be a redemption for all of the Jewish People!
