There are over 800,000 children in Israel who cannot afford to have their holiday meals. As every year, we make sure that they can celebrate the holidays with dignity and joy. Wishing them: Chag Savea!

The “Chag Savea for Children” campaign began in 2003 as a local initiative by students from the educational institutions of “Migdal Or” in Migdal HaEmek, who sought to give back to society and provide food packages to children who could not afford food.

The students of Migdal Ohr receive a values-based education and learn that when you receive, you also need to know how to give back. They collected food products, packaged and distributed about 500 packages to needy families. Year after year, the activity grew until it became an important and vital national Israeli operation.

In preparation for the Tishrei holidays, “Migdal Ohr” helps tens of thousands of needy families across the country. For over twenty years, Migdal Ohr has been holding the “Chag Savea for Children” campaign, in which volunteers from all over Israel take part – secular, ultra-Orthodox, soldiers, schoolchildren, celebrities and politicians. The Rabbi’s atmosphere of giving and love unites everyone around him in the joy of doing and helping others.

Between the rows of vines – volunteer hearts: Discount Bank employees arrived this morning at the “Zoharim” youth village vineyard to help students with the grape harvest.

This morning, employees of Discount Bank, led by the bank’s CEO, Mr. Avi Levy, broke free from their routine, went out to the field, took baskets and harvest together with the students of the “Zoharim” youth village in the village’s vineyard. In times when the words “giving” and “community” sound cliché, today the bank’s employees showed us their power. Bankers with dirty gloves, a CEO sweating alongside teenagers, a small smile from a teenager who feels that they are being listened to, cooperation that is not just words – but action.

Learning, cooking and growing: Today there was great excitement with the opening of the first lesson for 10th grade students at the culinary art class!

For the first time, 10th grade students entered the professional kitchen of “Cooking up the Future”, met the program director and the amazing chef Ilana Saada 🍳, and began a fascinating journey into the world of cooking and baking.

The wonderful smells, the smiles, the flavors and the excitement – made the first lesson an unforgettable experience.

Beyond a real profession and a chef’s certificate that will await them at the end of the twelfth grade, the kitchen also gives them something equally great: strengthening self-confidence, developing creativity, responsibility, calmness and a real sense of success.

At the end of the class, they sat together to taste the dishes they had prepared themselves – it was clear that this was just the first chapter in a magical story of growth, learning, and dreams that were beginning to brew.

Another school year begins at the educational institutions of the “Migdal Ohr”. Our staff, educators and teachers, are already standing with open arms to welcome every boy and girl with a hug and love.

Looking up to the sky at the first day of school in “Migdal Ohr” you can see dozens of colorful balloons rise into the sky – each one has a small wish written on it, a child’s big dream. One who welcomed the students today was Israel Prize laureate Rabbi Yitzhak Dovid Grossman, president of the “Migdal Ohr” institutions, who gave each student a sweet candy, accompanied by a hug and warm words: “We believe in you, we are with you!”

Welcome Home! We inaugurated the new boarding school building of the “Zoharim” youth village. In preparation for the start of a new school year,

In preparation for the start of a new school year, the Zoharim Youth Village has renovated impressive boarding houses, which will soon house both veteran students and new arrivals. Zoharim Village is growing every year and is welcoming more and more at-risk youth. The outdated buildings where the students lived have been replaced with luxurious buildings. Now they will truly be able to feel at home.

“Migdal Ohr” and “Akim” in a collaboration that leaves a taste for more. Akim trainees joined Migdal Ohr’s culinary arts studies.

During the summer break, while the students of “Cooking the Future” were on vacation, a unique and exciting cooking workshop was held at “Migdal Or” for teenagers from the “Achva” club from Migdal HaEmek.

The initiative was born from the belief of Israel Prize laureate, Rabbi Yitzhak Dovid Grossman, that one should give back to the community in which the children of the “Migdal Ohr” live and grow up.

The workshop was held entirely on a volunteer basis, led by Chef Ilana Saada, who made the experience professional, educational, and above all, human and touching.

13 participants with special needs and different functions – entered the world of cooking, worked with raw ingredients, learned kitchen habits and prepared a rich dairy meal with their own hands.

At the end of the workshop, everyone sat together around the tables, wearing new aprons that were specially donated, tasted the dishes they prepared, and received a personal recipe book as a tasty and joyful souvenir.

The Akim team concluded with words that touched the hearts of all of us:

“This wasn’t just a cooking workshop – it was a life workshop. Seeing the light in the eyes, the feeling of success and pride – it’s an experience we’ll never forget.”

This sunner will be HOT! summer camps of “Migdal Ohr” provide unforgettable experiences for children in need

Every year we make sure that the children of “Migdal Ohr” have the freedom to grow up.

Our summer camps provide an equal opportunity for every child to experience the summer holiday and have fun like all the other children. For them, this is not just another camp, but a safe and supportive place that allows them to enjoy activities and go to places that their families do not have the opportunity to take them.

The “Migdal Ohr” family bows its head and grieves the fall of its graduate, Sergeant Meir Shimon Amar z”l, who fell in the in Gaza.

“Meir Shimon, as his name suggests, was a light to all those around him. Already at a young age, when he arrived at the ‘Migdal Ohr’, he spread light and joy to all those around him. Everyone loved him and wanted to be around him. His teachers and educators filled their mouths with praise and glory for the days in which he studied within the walls of our institutions and was considered an outstanding student. Meir Shimon loved the people of Israel, the Torah of Israel and the Land of Israel, which are intertwined and bound together. He sacrificed his life for the people and the state with holiness and heroism.”

The stage is lit, the children stand in front of excited parents, and the silence is replaced by a burst of singing, movement, and confidence. The end-of-school-year parties at “Migdal Ohr” are underway.

So true, it happens every year – but in such a challenging year, it’s even more exciting. The end-of-school parties at “Migdal Ohr” are underway… The stage is lit, the children stand in front of parents who are even more excited than them, and the silence is replaced by a burst of singing, movement, and confidence. In one moment, you realize that this is more than just another graduation party – it is a childhood that has received love and faith. Over the year, our children have learned, developed and grown. The educational teams of “Migdal Ohr” not only taught them to read, write and think – they taught them to believe in themselves. And if a boy and a girl who previously knew only failures stand on stage and shine – we must have done something right. A great and happy holiday, our dear children and to all the children of Israel.

Towards the end of the school year, we wanted to thank the educational staff of the association for another successful and enjoyable school year.

Just before we end another school year, we wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to the educational teams at the educational institutions of “Migdal Ohr”, who work with dedication throughout the year – to those who see every student, are there for them at every given moment, reach out and lead our students to success and fulfillment. Because for us, success is not measured by grades alone – but also, and perhaps even primarily, when our student says to himself – “I can,” and begins to believe it. Thank you to all our education men and women for another wonderful and particularly challenging year, which is almost over. You are the ones who make “Migdal Ohr” much more than an educational institution. You are the light in the “Migdalor” (tower of light)!
