The “Chag Savea for Children” campaign began in 2003 as a local initiative by students from the educational institutions of “Migdal Or” in Migdal HaEmek, who sought to give back to society and provide food packages to children who could not afford food.
The students of Migdal Ohr receive a values-based education and learn that when you receive, you also need to know how to give back. They collected food products, packaged and distributed about 500 packages to needy families. Year after year, the activity grew until it became an important and vital national Israeli operation.
In preparation for the Tishrei holidays, “Migdal Ohr” helps tens of thousands of needy families across the country. For over twenty years, Migdal Ohr has been holding the “Chag Savea for Children” campaign, in which volunteers from all over Israel take part – secular, ultra-Orthodox, soldiers, schoolchildren, celebrities and politicians. The Rabbi’s atmosphere of giving and love unites everyone around him in the joy of doing and helping others.
